Would you like to write for The Southwest Star Magazine or propose an idea for a story? Then email us.

We welcome submissions and regularly run articles from guest writers. People have also tracked us down, pitched stories about their own vehicles, and yes, we've run them. Basically, if the story is of interest to our readership, it's of interest to us.

We encourage individuals to submit original content. This can be a story about your own vehicle, an event, project, technical advice, anything that you feel would be of interest to the Mercedes-Benz and/or Porsche community. However, the content must be original. That's "original" as in you own the work. If you've sold or given away the rights to a story you've written, we cannot publish it. However, if you rewrite it, or we write it, then it's a different story and we can publish it.

If you represent a company, brand, or a PR agency, we may consider your article. However, it should be both an article and of interest to our readership. The same is true for paid and/or sponsored articles. Alternatively, if you'd like to run an ad, it will be in front of the same readers and it will face less scrutiny.

If your story is run by The Southwest Star Magazine, it will be presented to a large number of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche enthusiasts. Last year, over 3 million Mercedes-Benz and Porsche enthusiasts read The Southwest Star Magazine. This is a targeted audience whose interests include motorsports, fashion, lifestyle, DIY, technology, and of course, vehicles from our two favorite auto manufacturers. If you believe your article is of interest to our readership, we would like to hear from you.

During the eight years we've been in business, we have acquired a following which requires that we have standards for publication. To meet those standards, we must be able to edit content. Editing includes but is not limited to changes involving titles, subtitles, spelling, sentence structure, paragraph structure, grammar, and changes to related photographs. When a contribution is made, and an article is published by The Southwest Star Magazine, we do not pretend to own the article. You wrote it, so t's still yours. However, if an article has been heavily edited by The Southwest Star Magazine, we'd prefer that the edited version not be republished by competitors without prior approval, however we regularly provide approval.

The Southwest Star Magazine reserves the right to decline articles and/or refuse to consider work from individuals with or without providing justification. The Southwest Star Magazine also does not pay for contributed content. We're here for the love of 21st century journalism.
